Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC)

AMIC
The Asian Media Information & Communication Centre (AMIC) is the premier communication centre for information, research and promotion of mass communication in the Asia-Pacific region. Established in 1971 with the support of the Government of Singapore and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, it is a charity-registered organisation dedicated to communication development in the Asia Pacific. AMIC is actively engaged in communication documentation, research, training, publishing and media development and has a close working relationship with the School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

The Asian Journal of Communication is a joint research publication of the Asian Media Information and Communication Centre, Singapore and the School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. The Journal aims to facilitate the understanding of the process of communication in the Asia-Pacific by publishing articles that develop communication theory, report empirical research, and describe advances made in research methodology.

AMIC is hosting its 2005 annual convention, Media and Society in Asia: Transformations and Transitions, in Beijing, People’s Republic of China from 18-21 July. For further information, visit the AMIC dedicated website at www.amic-web.org.

The Asian Journal of Communication is available at a reduced rate to members of AMIC.
